MISSION NOTES
I finally broke down and picked up the first two mini-expansions: Space Marine Pack 1 and Mission Pack 1. I've decided to add in the marines first trying out each new unit once with the original units before randomly selecting from all available. The new locations will come a little later. First up was the Orange Unit.
I felt like I had the “perfect storm” of units on my team for this game. With Claudio and his Heroic Charge and Adron with his Cyclonic Volley, I almost didn't have to roll the die this game...check out the stats below to see for yourself (21 total rolls compared to 43 during my last 1-Player set up). Combine that with the Purple Unit's Strategize action and I had no trouble slaying Genestealers left and right.
On one turn, Claudio would do his thing. Then on the next, I'd move the Genestealers into a single swarm and let Adron clean up the mess. Then it was back to Claudio and so on. I basically followed that formula for most of the game, and I must say it was my easiest win yet...not that I have much to compare it to!
Adron attacked five times and only missed once. Claudio, of course, never missed, but survived all three of his defense rolls. During the final location, I stayed patient and added three Support Tokens to the Launch Control Room before trying to activate it. Of course, I rolled a 3!
Next up is the new Gray Unit. I haven't looked at their special abilities yet, but I'm going to guess that they aren't quite as strong as Adron.
