I realize the odds don't work exactly like dice, but if you had the opportunity to add a D14 to your combat with only one side being a null and other sides adding damage, invisibility, armor piercing, combo opportunities, etc you wouldn't take that die? I'm unlucky, but that's pretty tempting.

Also, one could play with null/x2 as +0 variant and take the scenario effects perk to mitigate some curses. If it's only hedge cases of multiple nulls in one scenario how about a variant where the cards null/crits effect is removed after X whiff/crits.

I think people are also frustrated with paying a premium for advantage only to have it do absolutely nothing more often than not. At the very least they're frustrated that this happens at higher levels when characters are supposed to be getting stronger.

I'm only at lvl 3 on my first character and we're still at Prosperity 1. I'm not looking for any spoilers. I was assuming that there are other awesome items and abilities that would be revealed that would be more beneficial than the eagle eyed goggles. I didn't think there was an item from the initial set that I'd want to own for the duration. So, it doesn't bother me in the least to learn that the benefit of the goggles tails off as I ramp up.

You're forgetting the possibility of ability cards that give advantage or items that confer advantage moire efficiently than the goggles.

(I'm avoiding spoilers, too, and am just speculating)
