I would actually recommend trying to narrow the deck to 30 cards.

The decision about which cards to keep and which to remove get much harder the more cards you have to remove.

It is a useful exercise in deckbuilding. :)

Later on, if you have a bunch of the expansion packs, you will - of course - build 50(+) card decks (50 being the ideal number, it is generally better to have decks as small as possible (and 50 is the minimum size), because of the increased chance to draw the best cards) from a much larger card pool, and then these decisions will be equally difficult, since there will be a ton of useful cards.
