Firstly LoTR:TCG is one, if not the, best multiplayer co-op games made. So after trying the game solo really try to play it multiplayer. It solves the problem that many co-op have, that is having one dominating player telling others what to do. It won't work with this game. Really a different experience from solo.

This game (for me) really cries out for sleeves. More than any game I own. The cards are beautiful right to the edge. As a result, and for the fact the game is a LCG without any useless cards, I've sleeved it all. Unfortunately I used FFG standard sized clear sleeves which have gotten sold out. Hopefully it's a temporary problem. I'd suggest protecting your purchase in some manner before the first shuffle or even deckbuilding.

One note of caution to a former Magic the Gathering player. You will find the quests after the introductory one to be difficult, some to the point of card throwing frustration. Think of this game as a series of puzzles, Some are like the local paper's crossword and some are like the worst diabolical New York Time's crosswords. The joy in finding the correct deck design that works, and even the best don't always succeed in the face of bad luck. In other words, just finishing some of quests once, let alone with different ways, is going to be enough of a challenge.

Good luck on defeating the 3rd adventure in the base game solo. Escape from Dol Guldur and the first mission of the new Hobbit expansion (ie. the Trolls), tough is too weak a word to describe these scenarios.
