The extra miniatures aren't just alternate sculpts either. They come with new abilities, stats and some with new scenarios. Yes, even that extra five skeletons.They aren't "useless" as the op calls them. They do add to the gameplay. Sure, not as much as a full blown campaign book, but I'm perfectly happy with that as an addon, since it just means more stretch goals for the rest of us.
