I am not quite fascinated by the minis with electronic parts, but are astonished by the RFID cards' interaction with the minis. This is the one mind-blowing element that made me scream "take my money" immediately.

I love the chunky Euro games with VP and resource tokens, but sometimes it is simply too annoying to keep track of all the progresses when the games are getting mid-heavy weight of complexity. Especially when there are some careless players knocking over a few tokens, the game is quite ruined. That's why when I saw BH: Colonies has the integrated app to do most of the point recordings, I fell in love with the concept of the game design.

So back to the question of this thread, would the components of the game justify the price? Absolutely. People will pay over $100 for some cheap lego-type electronic games for kids because they are also paying for the potential of kids' learning. Why don't we pay a bit more for a revolutionary move on board gaming that will still keep the fundamental enjoyment of board games - getting together with friends - alive?
