Thread: Mansions of Madness: Second Edition:: General:: Replacing Included Plastic Miniatures with White Metal

As I mentioned in one of my previous threads I am replacing the plastic game miniatures and cardboard NPC tokens with actual lead / pewter minis.

I read on here with great interest about the people who don't use or have little interest in the miniatures of the game. I am the exact opposite, probably as I have come from a wargames background in the 80's I love the minis in a game. I also still love the old metal ones. They feel like they have substance and are worth when handling them.

I am a modern miniatures maker myself, mostly done in 3D modeling and printed / cast in resin these days. Very little cast in Lead anymore. I did give thought to doing my own, but with so many minis required to replace just the core set and especially the NPC tokens, I decided it would be fun to buy and track down a set from across the various suppliers over the years.
(I never did, but I remember guys in the 80's playing call of Cthulhu)

My first google search and the helpful links on this forum pointed me at RAFM miniatures which have some great retro and metal minis specifically in Cthulhu world. I however am in the UK, so didn't fancy waiting on the delivery and paying the postage, so I have had a fun hunt through local UK suppliers. here is where I got too . . .

Black Cat Games - Deep Ones and Deep One Hybrids

North Sat Military Miniatures - Cultists and Dagon Priest / Worshipers

Artisan Miniatures – Thrilling Tales Characters and Victorian Ladies

Iron clad Miniatures – Riot guys and Victorian Characters

Wargames Foundry - Victorian Gentlemen and Ne’er Do Wells Rioting

Mirlton SG (Italy) - Hunting Horror and Starchild

Sally4thGames – Victorian Characters and Clear Bases

It's been quite fun searching .. I have over bought in some instances as I have had to by a set to get one mini (grrr) or not been sure between two so got both .. Ill update with pics as they roll in if anyone's interested in following along.
