That's a false dichotomy. There's a third possibility: sometimes you get a good start and sometimes you get a bad start, but you don't have to view that as a "problem".
If it's your first game, it's a problem. If it's your 10th game and you know that sometimes you get a good start and sometimes not so good and that's part of the game, not necessarily a problem. Depends on the player.
