Sorry, I didn't realise you were referring to a specific example. For sure the roach card *can* be before Brodie's and the roaches *can* get a round or more of eating table cheese.What you originally said that struck me as a misplayed rule is
...they get to defend and eat as much cheese again... all in the same Round...
They don't eat cheese again until their turn comes around and Brodie likely kills them all. They get to roll defence but that would be the case no matter who attacked them (except for Filtch if he's higher in initiative). They certainly don't "eat as much cheese again" in the same round as you say.
