Yeah that sounds very similar to what I'm experiencing. I wonder if this is a new bug? I can't see any other reports of it recently.
The good thing is that, as far as I can tell, you can usually just get back to the point you need by typing in the right number. The only stuff that might be out of sync is the turn order and/or the danger level. I don't think anything else is tracked by the app, so as long as you can find the right number you can carry on - I think this is right? A bit annoying still though.
