The rule book states that free actions can be done once per round so a mouse can't take the ring and give it in the same round since that would be two share actions.
No. Mouse A gives Mouse B the ring. Both mice did a share action. This means Mouse B can not then give Mouse C the ring since Mouse B has already done their share action for that round.
On a mouses turn they can perform one free action. Mouse A can choose share on its turn and mouse B can choose share on its turn. Read the rules page 7:
On its turn, a mouse can either perform 1 of the
following actions then move, or move then perform 1 of
the following actions:
• Scurry
• Battle
• Search
• Recover
• Explore
In addition to performing an action, or choosing not
to perform an action, mice can perform any of the
following free actions at any time during their turn:
• Share
• Equip
• Level up
Each free action can only be performed once during a
mouse's turn. A free action cannot be performed in the
middle of performing another action.
