Congrats on your first victory.
Not sure if you are looking for advice, but 1 spell, 1 artifact and 3 advanced actions seem too few. I sometimes do end up with only 1 (or even 0) artifacts or spells, but the other types of advanced cards make up for it. You might try more aggressively collecting spells or advanced actions in future games.

Yeah, I was wondering about that (ALWAYS looking for advice :)). I'm still trying to find that balance between spending enough time leveling up and lollygagging around so long that I don't have enough time to take out the cities - but I'm realizing that grabbing AAs, artifacts, and spells can help "compress time" at the end so it's worth lollygagging sometimes.
At this point in my career, is seems that a good way to play is to take out a quick Orc to get to Level 2. Then take out an adventure site that provides an AA. Get a unit and then go after either a Keep or Mage Tower (prioritize Keeps early on due to the hand-limit bump). Try to follow the path of least resistance when moving. Does this sound about right?
I would add that sometimes it's worth it to backtrack a little bit or to cross some difficult terrain to get to a mage tower or a monastery from which to buy a spell or an advanced action.
Also, any of the Magic Talent, Training or Learning AAs can make a big difference in your game if you are lucky enough to get them. If you see one of these cards in the AA (or Unit) offer, changing your strategy for the round to focus on getting it will pay off later, unless you are close to the end of the game.
