Yeah, it is true. By not "resetting to your save point," you can actually end up in a worse position.


Well that's a little like how I play video games - without the reset to save point, there are times I could get into a position where it was just impossible to succeed, like ran out of ammo etc. so I go back and try and different approach.

I'm not sure if M&M escalates in that kind of manner, but if you've built up your mice over a few campaigns and hit a rough spot, progressively losing all your expanded stuff sounds quite punishing, and may hamstring the group as it progresses to the next chapters...Which seems a worse option than trying to rule it to prevent people gaming it... I mean you'd have to get the whole team to agree to fail to reset, which hopefully wouldnt happen often anyway....
